Online Chemistry Degrees

Finding the time to return back to school is one of the biggest stumbling blocks preventing many working professionals from going back to school to obtain their degree. Online degree programs work perfectly for individuals who don't have the time to return to school because of work, family, or because they don't live near a major university.

Online degree programs provide students with an incredible amount of flexibility.  Instead of having to show up on time to a classroom, students can log on and begin their lessons from the comfort of their own homes whenever they have the time. While this kind of convenience makes an online degree very appealing, studying at home can have some drawbacks. After working an eight or ten hour day, many people might not feel like sitting down to take an exam, or begin the next lesson in the course curriculum. A good online student must be a self-starter, capable of sticking to a set study routine. Without a lecture to attend, students must also feel comfortable teaching themselves the course material, and wait for their instructors to respond to any email queries about the material.

Students who feel that an online program fits their academic needs, and who want to obtain an online chemistry degree, have many schools in which to choose from. Here are a few of the many colleges and universities that offer an online chemistry degree:

  • Western Governors University
  • Lehigh University
  • Oregon State University

Students should carefully research any online chemistry degree program prior to enrollment to ensure the program is right for them.
